An idiot who doesn't think a 1916 motor torpedo boat is equal to a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, or hell even one of the new America class assault carriers at 2.4 billion a pop....
Anyone serving would see a Romney equating hundred year old ships with the modern navy as moronic at the kindest.

Ummm....we do smart guy. It's called close order combat. I'm an officer in the Marine Corps. We have and use bayonets. Go back to the Disney Channel.

You can all see what a steaming pile of turd the Romney campaign is, mainly because he has had to appeal to the lunatics of the tea party in the primary, now appear electable in his etch-a-sketch move he's tried to wipe away history.
Unfortunately for him and the apologists coming out the woodwork he's left making these ludicrous flip flops all over the place.
That smallest navy since 1916 was a joke from the start. You all know it is. It's representative of an entire campaign with no foundations. It stands for nothing, nada, zip other than GOP in power.
That's enough for you I'm sure, but America deserves better.

i served with the AFEAU in colombia fighting the drug war. yes, bayonets are much part of close quarter combat. marines live and die by the sword

I remember after debate #1, when many Libs were saying that Obama won in that debate, when in fact if it had been a football game, the final score wouldve been Romney: 55, Obama: 10
So, saying Obama "crushed Romney" can be literally taken with a grain of salt....

The point was about the size, scale and capabilities of us combat vessels compared to 1916. If you're stupid enough to try and actually argue about bayonets, then frankly, you shouldn't be leading anyone or carrying anything with a bayonet attached to it.
You know ronmey's point about the size of the us fleet compared to 1916 is bs, even if you think we should buy more ships, now stop bleating about your bayonets and deal with it.

Let's get it straight, it won't take two trillion dollars to equip our Marines with bayonets. He is talking about disposable tanks, battleships that will be of little help to the largest part of our fighting forces, the Army, and expensive aircraft that will be poorly suited to missions that less expensive drones are ideal for. This isn't about what is best for America, this is what is best for the worlds richest corporations.

I'm actually interested to think what conservatives think of the hawk-to-dove switch we saw from Romney tonight?
Are you guys who have supported his foreign policies in the past ok with this switch, or is all fair as long as he beats Obama?
You have to admit there has been some pretty major shifts from Romney from his previous positions in all the debates?

I'm embarrassed for Romney. He clearly demonstrated his lack of understanding considering the military and foreign policy.
Obama smoked him everywhere he turned. Obama smelled the blood in the water and continued the assault. I think it's pretty evident who will occupy the White House for another 4 years.
