We were in Spikes Coffee and I was reading the Bay Times (LGBTQ news, etc.). The front page had a letter from a 10 year old girl to President Obama and the President's response to her. Part of her letter and all of his are here: http://gawker.com/sophia-bailey-klugh/

The reality of what has happened in recent months and especially the election was brought home to me with force. It's past time for us (Americans) to find the common ground we need to move forward as a nation and a people.

These are the days.

That is incredibly sweet. And yes, we're seeing enormous consequential change for the better.

(Hope you're enjoying our fair city!)

Not sustainable.  Civilizations rise and fall.  We're on the falling side.  Parade butt naked through the Castro if that's what trips your trigger.  In the end though, it's not sustainable.

I think that it is very telling that some think that our best days are behind us and see only bad things ahead. Some of us see better things ahead, and that is the group that I feel better about being associated with.

Call me cynical, but that 'sweet' reply came awfully close to election day, when publicity was much sought after by the president of the United States.  :p

And nudity in the Castro is related to marriage equality...how?
