QUOTE Man beats estranged wife to death with toilet tank lid QUOTE TOLLESON, AZ (CBS5) - June 26, 2012:
A Tolleson man faces a possible murder charge after police said he beat his estranged wife to death with a toilet tank lid.
Edgardo Luis Claudio-Marrero, 48, was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of second-degree murder Saturday after investigators found the body of Sreymon Claudio, of Mesa, in an upstairs bathtub in his house.
Police said Claudio-Marrero struck his wife after an argument, punching her and pushing her down the stairs at his Tolleson home and hitting her with the toilet tank lid until it broke.
So what say you Bob Costas? If only toilet's were outlawed....? Costas gun control commentary gets noticeThe toilet didn't cause Edgardo Luis Claudio-Marrero to kill his wife, and the gun didn't cause Jovan Belcher to kill his wife. You got it wrong Costas. Maybe if she had a gun she would still be alive today. I reckon Bob Costas has a right to voice his opinion as does anyone. You might want to ask yourself why his opinion bothers you so much. Jes' sayin'.

It's an interesting (to me) aside that in DC many years ago a man smashed his girlfriend's face into a porcelain sink several times and left her for dead. He was charged with "Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) Porcelain Sink. The judge threw out the charge on the grounds that in order for ADW sink to be charged, the sink would have to be detached from the wall and used as a bludgeon. As it was, the charge should have been ADW Open Hand since that's what the assailant had used to grab her.
-------------- Checking out for a while, find me on FB.

Entertainers will see the consequences of their comments as their employers are driven by public opinion.
Costas is still employed, Williams lost his job.

I also am having a trouble with the statement made by Bob Costas.
While he is entitled to his opinion, as we all are, the statement “If Jovan Belcher didn't possess a gun, he and Kassandra Perkins would both be alive today.", is speculative not fact.
Bob failed to mention that Jovan is the responsible party in this event, he murdered the mother is of his child.
The biggest problem I have; is that Bob totally skipped the ‘domestic violence’ issue. I think we could say, "If Jovan Belcher didn't commit domestic violence, he and Kassandra Perkins would both be alive today.",

And of course, there's the fact that pro football players wear helmets so they don't kill each other on the field. I'm just guessing, but I'll bet he could have killed her with out a gun.
