According to today's www.theblaze.com, A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun permit database was burglarized Saturday night. Burgulars targeted the homeowner's gun safe, but were unable to open it. One suspect is in custody.

In the same article, Judge Janine Pirro soundly ripped The Journal News not only for publishing the names and addresses of handgun owners in two Counties just outside of NYC, but also ripped them for now hiring security gaurds to protect THEIR own privacy...!! :D  :D

Criminals regularly burglarize homes looking for weapons. That's how so many of them end up in the streets being used for crimes because there are so many gun nuts who don't lock up their guns. There's no evidence this home was broken into because of the database.

Ah soooooooooooo......so having a gun in the house didnt seem to have stop someone from trying to steal his stuffz.

so much for those guns protecting those 'law abiding' citizens from crime.

Nah......not really......the criminals breaking just proves that guns could not stop it from happening.

The issue of them unable to remove any guns has little to do with the failure of that 'feel good' thing most gun-sluts get when they walk out of the local gun shops with their newest precious cradled in their arms.

But the majority of them get them on the black market and a lot of those are stolen

So the paper gave the thieves a shopping list

So 2 gun owners have apparently been targeted because the BG were given a "shopping list" of where guns could be found.

I'm curious as to how many more break-ins have occurred in that area of homes that weren't listed as gun owners since the BG were given a shopping list of homes where they'd safe from being shot by an irate homeowner and whether the rate of in-home assaults have risen in non-gun owning homes.

So publishing info for the location of expensive jewelry shouldn't temp jewel thieves any more than pointing out the location of guns for gun thieves?

What are the real stats? 2 gun homes were targeted but what was the rate of gun homes broken into before the addresses were published? Higher?Lower? Same? And has the rate increased or decreased for gunless homes located near those with guns?

Such a figure of "2 gun owners homes broken into" is entirely meaningless when taken solely by itself.

Um...yeah. That's what a lot of us have been saying all along. Most guns used in crimes are available due to the fact that they are so easily accessible from "law abiding" citizens.  Or sometimes, formerly law abiding citizens.  Thanks to the NRA and their minions, criminals can easily locate the "tools" they need to committed armed crimes.
