Great article exposing Herr Diane "Goebbels" Feinstein's communist, socialist agenda and total lack of effectiveness with it, what a buffoon!

Gee, it seems like her actual record in the Senate, and her increasing approval from her constituents are in direct disagreement with you, Buggy. Shocking I know, but there it is! LOL
Born in San Francisco, Feinstein graduated from Stanford University. In the 1960s she worked in city government, and in 1970 she was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. She served as the board's first female president in 1978, during which time the assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and City Supervisor Harvey Milk drew national attention to the city. Feinstein succeeded Moscone as mayor. During her tenure as San Francisco's first female mayor she led a revamp of the city's cable car system and oversaw the 1984 Democratic National Convention. After a failed gubernatorial campaign in 1990, she won a 1992 special election to the U.S. Senate. Feinstein was first elected on the same ballot as her peer Barbara Boxer, and the two became California's first female U.S. Senators. Feinstein has been re-elected four times since then and in the 2012 election, she claimed the record for the most popular votes in any U.S. Senate election in history, having received 7.75 million votes.[3] Feinstein was the author of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban which expired in 2004, and in 2013, introduced a new bill that would ban specific guns. Feinstein formerly chaired the Senate Rules Committee (2007–2009) and has chaired the Select Committee on Intelligence since 2009. She is also the first woman to have presided over a U.S. presidential inauguration.[4][5]

Very intelligent, and so persuasive.
I have a five year old granddaughter who could post a much more rational response, but I guess that is not really surprising.
The mental capacity of a two year old is nearly always outdone by a five year old.

Another brilliant and pithy repartee on the part of Buggy!
It is the best he has done, definitely reaching 5th grade level of witicisms.

It's funny watching Cruz trying to pull the childlike "gotchas" of the kind we see from the less able conservative posters on here.
It's funny again watching him get his ass handed to him as a result.
It's funnier still that patsy is so absolutely oblivious to this humor and thinking he's sticking it to the liberals.

Cruz represents some new political sentiments all too well. Shallow, with little grasp of the complexities of a diverse society, and little interest in the concerns of others. When school yard taunts are the epitome of the political discussion that they can engage in, it doesn't bode well for the future of democracy. Fund the campaigns with wealthy special interest groups, drop all standards for telling the truth, and what you have are the rich and powerful manipulating the ignorant hot heads to do their bidding.

Monte, if you have read enough of my posts you will see that I am a very independent, progressive, libertarian, that believes that government has an important role in our society. Mega-corporations, religious organizations, unions, political parties, and governments, and entire nations, can be as lawless as individuals; that's culture.
Democracy should be about finding a balance between those forces. Freedom and liberty are abstract ideas. Philosophers cannot even agree on the nature of "free will." What we should aim for is "justice." A little long term planning and less selfish interest would be good for long term survival.
To those hate any political idea that has the word social attached to it, I would remind you that we evolved by virtue of social behavior. Even speech and intelligence were results of cooperative behavior, that gave us an edge against powerful predators and dangerous environments.

Even speech and intelligence were results of cooperative behavior, that gave us an edge against powerful predators and dangerous environments. I didn't mean to infer that you weren't talking before. Just that I particularly agreed with what you said there. And yes I have noticed your libertarian viewpoints. I pretty much agree on that as well. Not sure that I agree with Grover Norquist that government should be shrunk to the size that you could drown it in a bathtub, but yeah, the libertarian position is generally good. Personally I hold no rigid position. Socially I would be way over on the left, fiscally I would be right leaning. But I'm not in favour of privatising everything because of human greed. In other words I want the USDA keeping an eye on meat packers for all of our protection. Left to themselves, the bottom line might influence compromise that could have negative effects on the public consumer. And that's just one example.
And I'm not one of those whom you speak that are afraid of anything "social" and agree with your statement about that.

Guns are another good example where well regulated controls, government oversight, and greatly improved safety features could be very effective in our society where gun ownership and use is dangerously unregulated. JMO
Oh, yeah, it is also Feinstein's opinion!

Okay....good deal....
"People say well, are you disappointed? Obviously I'm disappointed," Feinstein told reporters Tuesday.
I guess Harry didn't want to waste the political capital on a bill he knew had no chance of passing.
Hopefully the Background check on private sales will go the same way.

Ah, but look at all the free publicity Feinsein reaped for the long term battle, because this issue will never go away until guns are safer in the hands of users and of mass killers.
