Hate the California one--it looks like a third-rate corporate logo. I like the flag we have, with the bear and all (even though there hasn't been a grizzly in the state since 1920-something).

Dull, corporate, stylized and rather stupid, IMO.

I thought we celebrated diversity these days instead of homogenizing it.

That was kinda my thought too. Corporatized and completely meaningless. Or, "let's see how many ways we can arrange a star and a stripe so they all look pretty much the same."

Meh.

And they messed with Texas.  Which is funny because that's the one flag that actually would've fit the style perfectly in its original form already.  But the designer just couldn't leave it alone, lol.

We need a redesign of the American flag. America could use a re-branding.

Don't care for any flags as symbols. The underlying themes of pride and nationality are divisive and actually pretty unimportant in overall life IMO.

NEW YORK: The Statue of Liberty’s crown has five points for the five states bordering the state and for New York City’s five boroughs. The red and white backwards “L” is a nod to the Union Jack and a reminder of what we can do when we band together.

Banding together... as in all 5 boroughs... to the exclusion of everywhere else. Because everyone knows NYS ceases to exist outside the corporate limits of NYC. Couldn't they at least put a waterfall or mountain in the background?

Sure, but just printing Idiots on a white background would look pretty lame.

I think the flags represent the individuality of each state (although some are quite similar, while others more full of symbolism), and the story before statehood that made each state what it is. They shouldn't need to be similar because the states themselves most certainly aren't.
