Last August I made my first "outdoors" trip and visited Yosemite.  I fell in love and already plan on returning this August again.  Anywhere, if someone hasn't been there, I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

I stayed at Curry Village: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011/09/curry-village.html

I got there late in the afternoon, so I started with a quick little walk over to the Merced River: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011/09/merced-river.html

After dinner I walked over to lower Yosemite Falls: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011....05.html

My first full day I hiked the Four Mile Trail: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011/09/four-mile-trail.html

The next day I went and visited Mariposa Grove: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011/09/yosemites-mariposa-grove.html

I also made a stop at Bridalveil Falls after the grove: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011/09/bridalveil-fall_23.html

...and the whole reason for the trip, to hike Half Dome: http://gowhereigo.blogspot.com/2011/09/half-dome.html

Even more so, the reason for my trip, to stand on the diving board upon Half Dome:

Thanks for the compliments everyone.  Just wait till I go out there for 2 weeks this fall.  I may have to buy another memory card. :)

Looks like a cool trip!  Some good shots in there, glad you got to see some bears, and I high-five your notion to get off the path and boulder-hop your way up to the falls.  Cooling off in a waterfall is practically a backcountry tradition.  If that's being stupid, then I recommend it every time. :)

Have a great trip this fall!

Yeah, while I was there I felt like a kid let loose in a toy store.  I wanted to run every direction, climb on everything, etc.  However, being on a limited time frame, I had to stick to plans. :(  Next trim this fall however, I'll have a lot more free time if I choose to roam off the beaten path a bit.

I went to the badlands instead of going full way to Yellowstone. I see I missed everything I did not expect to see...  :D
