Weather wise I definitely agree. Unfortunately wildflowers tend to be very past peak by then, even Skypilot up high.

It's all a trade-off. We have to decide what we like the most. Many like to go in September after school starts so there will be less people around. Some like spring for the wild flowers, etc.

I found what I like best is no mosquitoes and good swimming lakes after long hikes along with perfect weather. The last couple of weeks of August is usually perfect for around 7,000 feet in elevation, IMO.

I've done all the other stuff when I was younger . . .and much less picky about such stuff.
