Has anyone hiked the Stubbe Springs Trail at Joshua Tree National Park? Is it an easy trail to follow? Is it better to it clockwise or counterclockwise?

I hope some one answers this. I am going there at the beginning of March.

I was just reading that if you go clockwise you will get better lighting.

Just hiked it Jan. 18 - went clockwise, seemed to be right way to go. Trail is relatively easy to follow, but be careful crossing washes, look for cairns. Also, past the Fan Canyon overlook, the trail follows some washes, make sure to follow cairns and signposts as to when the trail comes out of them. It's scenic - but signs of recent fire devastation for about 1/2 mile in one canyon -- sad.
