I have been up there once before but that was maybe six years ago or so and that was in the early fall. I'd like to do a trip up there in one of the upcoming weekends. Do you think I would need snowshoes AND crampons/microspikes?

I plan to do it as a day hike. And I will be calling the ranger station for last minute conditions.

Thanks for any info :)

Probably just crampons/microspikes/poles if you still to the trail - if you go off trail then snowshoes.

Thanks Tarol, and thanks for the link. I'm going for a Whitney permit and need to get started with my training :)
