Need somewhere to just sleep, basically, between Vegas and Grand Canyon.  Will already have car camping gear with me, so figured why not camp instead of paying for a hotel?  All I can find around Kingman is RV places.  I don't need/want anything fancy, but don't really want to sleep on pavement, right beside a generator.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

What time of year?

Try Hualapai Mountain County Park southeast of Kingman. It may be closed for the winter. But, there may be someplace nearby. Any National Forest land should be available for primitive camping.

I went up to the Hualapai Mountain County Park in the summer of 2010. It's a forest. We had a picnic lunch and enjoyed ourselves. I found out about it in my book, "SCENIC DRIVING ARIZONA."
