I have some sudden time off starting in a couple weeks and I've always wanted to spend some time in the Ansel Adams Wilderness.  The popularity of Yosemite has turned me off in the past, but I'd still love to see it, so I'm considering an extended trip through Yosemite.  I've worked out a pretty ambitious itinerary for myself -- but a doable one, barring extreme weather or trail conditions.

My itinerary is listed below with elevations and estimated mileage.  This is all new territory for me, so if anybody has advice or recommendations to offer, please chime in.  I do terribly with heights and extreme exposure, so if there are any sections along my route, I'd appreciate a heads up.

While they're both scenic I tend to prefer the Lewis drainage over Fletcher, and Bernice is a nice place to spend some time and as it's off to the side it's a quiet place (usually).

As you're spending a night at Little Yosemite Valley maybe see if you can grab a backpacking Half Dome cable permit if you're into that sort of thing.

Bernice does look nice!  Definitely in consideration.  And I only wish I could do Half Dome, but O! my vertigo.
