Spent four days, three nights in the Porkies last week -- rained one day, the rest of the time it was sunny and warm.  Had a great time.  Sure were a lot of people enjoying the Porkies!

We stayed at Lily Pond, Buck Shot, and Big Carp (all cabins) and hiked a little over 25 miles.  The rainy day turned into a beautiful evening when the clouds cleared and the sun came out -- great sunset!

This is Buck Shot as the clouds started to clear.

We were going to be doing some cabins up there next month, but the wife sprained her ankle badly and so we had to cancel our trip there. Had planned on staying at Little Carp, Greenstone and Lake Superior.

That would've been a great trip, sorry to hear you had to cancel.

Here's a photo from the Cross Trail

How muddy and swampy was the Cross Trail? As I have heard you go thru a mile long area of mud up above boot level.

No mud at all. The trail was beautiful.
