Is there any good snowshoeing in Colorado yet this year? I live in Fort Collins, and none of my normal places have enough snow.
Just checked, and Joe Wright Reservoir by Cameron Pass only has 9". Last I heard Bear Lake in RMNP only has 6" or snow.

I can't speak for Colorado but I went in search of snow yesterday in the Beartooths of southern Montana. Took my snowshoes, x-country and hiking boots. Only the boots got a workout. I hiked to about 9500 ft and only fond about 3 inches of snow and that was scattered. I'm getting really worried about the long term prospects. It's looking bleak so far.

No.
Was up near Ute Pass Saturday. Very little snow.

I just drove I 70 from Utah to Denver last week and it's as dry as I've ever seen it. Even the runs at the resorts with snow making are having a hard time getting more than a dusting on the ground.
Scary, very scary as the still very actively burning Fern Lake Fire in RMNP testifies. It was almost as smoky as the High Park fire here Sat. as you already know.

We have decent snow over 7,000'. From what I could see up Death Canyon yesterday its quite deeper in short order. But down on the valley floor not even a 1,000' Elk have moved onto the refuge because there is a LOT of bare ground. Hunt stopped Sunday so maybe more will straggle in this weeek.

Was up on the Flat Tops Sunday which is unusual in Dec. There was about 6 - 8 inches of wind blow powder around in places. Everything between there and Denver looked dry dry dry.
