This August my wife, our grandson, a friend and myself are headed out of the Meadow Lake TH. The 1st night we will be staying in the Jaquline/Barnes area. The next 2 nights we will camp near Upper Louise. Then we are headed onto the reservation for 2 or 3 nights fishing Alpine, Deadman and that area and headed back out along Bull Creek. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to camp on the reservation?

Let me know if you need a shuttle. Can't promise but if the dates work for me I'll help you out if you pay the tribal permit fee for me.

I think you have to have a tribal permit to fish on the res, not a state fishing license, no?

Yes, however with last year's fire we probably won't be going on the res this year.

Unfortunaly, that is a good decision.
A good portion of the trail from Meadow Lake to nearly Black's Lake along Pole Creek is old burn as well.

According to the Wind River Ind. Res. website you do NOT need a Wyoming State fishing license to fish on the Res as long as you have the appropriate Indian Fishing permit. Rics www.trekkerman.com

Wind River Reservation Tribal Fishing / Trespass Licenses
This is a trespass permit and each person, regardless of whether they fish or not, needs a permit. Even to cross reservation lands they need a permit. Five people in a car – 5 licenses, 20 people in a bus – they need 20 licenses
State licenses are irrelevant on the res. The access and fishing on the res is governed by the res entirely, no matter how you travel there. Thus the title of 'trespass permit'
I know many people who traverse from the west slope of the Bridger Wilderness onto the res do not care about this, but...
