I'm considering a backpack on the olympic coast in February or March, weather permitting. Has anyone have suggestions about good camping spots, and any beta about conditions in the winter?

Cold with rain, followed by rain with cold (think 40 degrees or so).  For my taste, miserable, a great time for storm watching at the coast, with a warm hotel room.  Not the time I'd be backpacking.

Expect wet (bring tent, tarp, hot drinks, solid rain gear, leave towel and dry clothes in car at trailhead) If lucky a glorious technicolor grey storm will be screaming in from the pacific.
Hike the Ozette loop. First night at Alava (turn north at beach, campsite before outhouse) Day 2 hike beach to sand Point (check out Petroglyphs along the way) camp south of Sand Point closer to Wish Creek. Last day hike back to Ozette trailhead.

I second Random Walker...South Sand Point is nice and you can visit Yellow Bank during a low tide.  No fires at Sand Point, though.  The winter isn't the time to try to cross the Ozette River, for sure.
