I am trying to check out a new national park every summer, and this year I have my eyes on North Cascades NP. I know there are a bunch of guidebooks out there, but I like to start with the experts here.

We like to go for about 7 days, doing 5-10 miles per day, generally moving camp most days. Interested in walk-up climbs. Can do some snow travel. Pretty good shape.

Also, what is the permit process like, if there is one? I got super lucky in Glacier last summer and hope I haven't used up all my mojo in that regard.

Thanks!

I'm pondering the Whatcom Pass environs for some high country mosey meandering myself.
Come in from the west: Copper Ridge / Chilliwack River loop. Or come in from the east: Ross Lake / Little & Big Beaver Loop.
Using Green Trails Maps 15 & 16 for the pondering...
Back country permits (issued day of?) and possible NW Forest Pass required.
