Hi backpackers,

I am planning to do solo backpacking for 7 days from 8/23 to 9/1.

I wanted to do Wonderland Trail, but it is hard to fit it under 7 days. Also, it is a popular trail, which means there might be lot of people on the trail.

Teton Crest trail is also a very popular trail.

Do you guys have any good suggestions with solitude in mind?

Sagar

There are plenty of destinations near Teton that are pretty secluded. I don't think I encountered anyone at all in Fitzpatrick Wilderness. As a general rule, if you're looking for solitude, you're better off looking at wilderness areas than national parks.

For solitude:

Napeequa River.

Or Skyline Trail in the Olympics.

I'd go back to Bogachiel in Olympic a heartbeat. I think I saw 2 people and a ranger that week.

I would like to know more about trails in Olympic National Park.

Is there a book/website do you guys recommend apart from the nps.gov website?

Robert Wood, Olympic Mountains Trail Guide. It's probably out of print, but you should be able to find it.
