Thanks but I think the Smokies are a bit out of my range. I'm trying hard just to get down to the Clinch Ranger District on the border of VA and KY but it's a 7 hour drive.

I'll keep the NCT hike in mind for fall. I'm in NE Ohio, so it's close enough.  

 Depends on the miles per day. My knees usually make me quit @10 when humping a pack in any sort of terrain.

That would work.  I was looking at your original 25 mile description, then looked at how the trail wanders in that area and was thinking it was more.  It might even be longer that what you are quoting now.

I used distances posted on the map so my estimates should be closer than they usually are.
