It has been many years since I've hiked in the Bald Eagle SF, but I remember how nice it was with old growth forests, views, rhodo choked streams.
From Bear Gap Picnic Area, it looks like you can go clockwise via Reeds Gap Spur, White Mtn Trail, Green Gap Trail, Penns Creek Valley Trail, Henstep Valley Trail, Cold Spring Trail, Snyder Middleswarth NA, Tall Timbers, High Top Trail, back to Reeds Gap Spur and Bear Gap. Some short forest roadwalks needed to complete the loop.
Anyone familiar with these trails now?
From what I remember, White Mtn Trail is very nice, with some views at the eastern end; Green Gap was beautiful as was Penns Creek Valley Tr to Lick Run, Snyder Middleswarth and Tall Timbers were gorgeous with impressive old growth; Gap Tr and Bear Gap were also very nice. Looks like it could be a very nice loop. Half mile off the loop is the stunning view of Lancaster Valley.

Sounds fun! If you put this together, keep me posted. I would certainly be interested in an exploration.

Ok, I'll be in touch. I think we can pull it off. The terrain looks really interesting with some great features. Snyder Middleswarth is beautiful and it looks like there might be some views near the High Top and Dean Trails intersection. Plus, I think Reeds Gap Spur trail has been rehabilitated. It's a very nice area and I'd like to get back.

If anyone is interested, we will attempt this March 29-31. We will follow Reeds Gap Spur and a variety of state forest trails. Might be some bushwhacking. I do not know the condition of all these trails. Roughly 30-35 miles. Highlights include White Mountain Wild Area, views of Penns Creek, many scenic streams, and the impressive old growth forest at Snyder Middleswarth and Tall Timbers Natural Areas. For those looking for something different, this is something truly off the beaten path in a beautiful area.
