Hey - has any one here done this trail?

http://www.backpacker.com/article/16009

I'll be heading there this October for 2 nights and was just wondering what folks thought about it.  I couldn't find much information online (and finding a map took some time!)

Thanks!

I was supposed to do some of that last weekend but dislocated my patella two weeks ago.

But jnk556 and I did Cow Pasture last fall as part of a different hike.  It was OK then, not sure what shape it's in since the winter storm.  The trail from the Nature Center down to the prison was rough. I think you can bypass that by going in from 150 though.

Yes, I've been out there. My last visit was mid-April in 2012. Be prepared for very cold weather, it was in the 60's when I left home, and there was a sizable snowstorm that had hit the night before; upper 30's upon late morning arrival.

Be prepared for some slogging, waterproof/breathable pants/gaiters/waterproof boots.

Trails are pretty well marked with cairns, but some people disassemble them. I swear by 24x36 waterproof topo maps.

Have fun out there, it is beautiful!!!

If it wasn't for your site MRHyker, we wouldn't know where to hike!  Really though we pretty much find a area, go to your site, see what you have and then do some variation of it that suits me and Arfcomhkr.  We've even spread the word a couple times to others on the trail.
