Six of the top 10 in the BCS are from the SEC...
2. Bama 3. Georgia 4. Florida 7. LSU 9. Texas A&M 10. South Carolina
By the way, the SEC was 4-0 against the Ain't Competitive Conference yesterday! No matter who the ACC champ is, the SEC beat them already!

QUOTE The SEC championship should be a good game next week, I can't say who I'll root for as I am not a fan of either coach/team. But whoever wins will hopefully manhandle ND. I like both, and am convinced UA has the best team in college football. Whether they will beat Georgia is a whole 'nother story. They give glimpses of greatness, but have only put together pieces of ball games in their two tough matchups, which is not very confidence-inspiring. Ever since the Texas A&M loss, I've known that Georgia would be coming to win, and believing they can. If anybody is overdue to have their day in the sun, it's UGA, anyway, so I'll be happy for them if they win, while disappointed for UA at the same time. Either should be quite capable of putting ND in a world of hurt.

cheer, cheer, for old notre dame, wake up the echoes cheering her name, send a volley cheer on high, shake down the thunder from the sky, what though the odds be great or small, old notre dame will win over all, while her loyal sons are marching onward to victory.

Rammer Jammer will be a lot easier for you to remember after you hear it. Yellowhammer is one word, btw. It's the state bird. Just FYI...;)

So, just curious, at what age do the UA alums decide to no longer sing it? Because when UA plays here in Knoxville, all the local UA alums do a riverboat cruise right beside the stadium the night before and blare it until the wee hours of the morning.....
Also didn't they hold a vote on ending the cheer and the students voted like 99% in favor of keeping it??

Just based on the folks I know, not the casual observance. Though the casual observance around here is the Wal-Mart crowd.
I'd wager that most of those "alums" that come to Knoxville are only familiar with the stadium area of campus in Tuscaloosa.

Find something else to cry about. We're just teasing each other about the game, assuming it's Alabama who even plays Notre Dame.

I assume it will be Alabama beating up on Notre Dame, but you never know: Georgia could *possibly* win.
And anyway, why do we have non-SEC people in here cheering for other teams, like Notre Dame? They should be banished!

As a resident in GA and a UGA alum, of course I want the Dawgs to win the SEC. But as a fan of the game I am more intrigued at the notion of GA re-matched against ND for the national championship, something of a replay of the 1981 Sugar Bowl.
For those too young to remember , UGA won that game and the title, due to blocking a few ND field goal attempts and also due to ND allowing a UGA kick-off to simply land untouched and bounce around at the 1-yard line (never seen that before or since). ND out-played us, but we ended up with more points on the board.

Kentucky hired away the defensive coordinator from FSU Mark Stoops (Bob Stoops of OK's brother) to be their new head coach. Another loss for the ACC, another SEC gain. Now lets see who TN, Arkansas, and Auburn end up with.

My husband seems to think no way in hell are they gonna let him coach due to racial issues. I hope he's wrong because we loved him at Florida and I think he would make a great SEC coach.

Knoxville is pretty diverse, and we do have a black basketball coach, who the community seems to like pretty well.
