i just got back from being on the western part of the foothills parkway for work today, and it still had a bunch of color......

lots of golds and yellows with some red sprinkle in.......

we didnt get above the first overlook on the west side of the parkway, but i'd imagine the entire parkway would have color of some sort......

i'd say if ya wanna see the colors----do it this weekend, or early next week.......

I think you're right.....color won't last much longer IMO...

Won't last much longer in the Mountains, but I'm lookin out my office window and the maples and hickorys are bursting with color here at 1100 feet.

I would bet Big South Fork is lookin pretty right about now.  Then again, I hear we might have some wind & rain this weekend, which could knock them down.

I was in Red River Gorge Oct 21-26, and the fall color was peak early in the week. Still good when we left ahead of Friday's storm front, but a lot of leaves dropped during the week.

I didnt get outta town this weekend, but can attest to the color here in knozville......sharps ridge is at peak right now.....

My guess is with the rain of this weekend, most leaves will have fallen or pretty danged close......

Interesting enough----while the higher elevations had the leaves knocked down from the snow, there are still patches of color from sugarlands up to chimney tops.......

Not much, but still a little.....

Its an interesting combo-----coming from the last remnants of fall color at sugarlands driving up newfound gap road and hitting snow just above chimney tops trailhead........

Not as much traffic on this weekend as i was expecting....

I was thinking traffic would be thicker with people wanting to see the early snow........

Thanks for sharing! What a helpful and fun thread!  Lovely photos Ashepabst.
I haven't been down to Citico since late Summer.

We went riding in the Cumberland Mountains this past weekend and it was still very pretty there!

I saw lots and lots of copper beech. I did not get any photos of that specifically, but they sure were pretty!
