Short family vacation with the parents this week. We stuck to touristy stuff, played around near Gatlinburg, TN at a couple of places with that are popular picnic spots with lots of rocks and flowing water, and went to DuPont State Park in North Carolina, which has several nice waterfalls within a little over a mile of each other. I didn't try to do any real hiking, as my back was giving me lots of problems, but had a great time hanging out with my parents.

These first three waterfalls are from DuPont State Park. Some scenes from Last of the Mohicans and The Hunger Games were filmed here...
High Falls:

Triple Falls:
First two are from the middle. I had a lot of fun going up and down the falls, and videoed going from top to bottom so my mother could see what it was like up close.

That's my dad down there on the left.

This was from the top section:

And this from the trail overlooking the falls:

Couple of random pics from one of those picnic areas:

Cataract Falls:

This is just .1 mile off a 2 mile trail that goes from the Sugarland visitor center into Gatlinburg, and I had never gone and looked at it. Given the name, I was expecting something a bit more dramatic:D
