i bought John Ray's guide for Chunky Gal a few years ago and never got around to hiking the trail. i have seen the northern terminus near Tusquitee Bald on Fires Creek Rim Trail. i have John's email address if you want it.

yep, that's the one.

Tusquitee Bald and Potrock Bald are adjacent peaks... i'm having trouble remembering which is which, but one had a great 180 view while the other was only a small clearing without much of a view. keep an eye out for Chestnut Trees up there. i did enjoy what small piece of the area we covered. be prepared for lightly used trails that fade in and out.
