I'm doing another section ( although a short one) of the at this year, I'll be going from Fontana dam to the noc. last year My brother went down and stayed in the area while I hiked so transportation wasn't a problem. this year I am needing to either find someone to shuttle my car or give me a ride back to the trail head. anyone have any thought on this. I've heard or car breakins at some trail heads so I would rather leave the car someplace safe.

Shuttle services in that area are usually pretty easy to find ......

One is The Hike Inn.........also.....you may call noc and ask them.if they run a shuttle........

In fact,  rereading this post -----heres one option.......park car at fontana marina parking area-----ive parked there dozens of times without incident---have hike inn meet ya there for shuttle........the hike inn is about a mile from where the at crosses the fontana marina's parking lot........

call Ron Holland 828-369-6404 He shuttled me & my brother from the NOC to Fontana $60. I accidently give him $80 but it's all good, it was the weekend Sandy came to town so he deserved it!! It was a great hike through Blizzard conditions :O)

I agree thw NOC is a great place ended last years section hike there as well.I really want to leave my car there the only problem may be I'm not sure anybody would be willing to shuttle my party in thier car.I will be hiking with my wife and our 2 great swiss mountian dogs. so the best opition is to get someone to get the car to the noc or.
