Going to do Mt Camerrer this weekend as an overnight (driving out from Memphis tonight, I'll enter at Cosby and take Low Gap to the AT, north to Mt. Camerrer and then overnight at 35 following Mt Camerrer trail back down).

Anyone been out there lately or have any reviews?

A friend and I did a three-night backpacking trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in late November that included a visit to Mt. Cammerer. The view from the lookout was absolutely incredible, so try and plan it so you can spend a good bit of time there. We were definitely in no hurry to leave. A few pictures:

Enjoy your trip!

Day 1 should be around 10 miles, so if I'm out and going by 8am I should have plenty of time to make it to 35 before dark and enjoy the views from the Ranger lookout.

Thanks!

you might wanna give the park a buzz before you go or have a Plan B. the road leading into the Cosby entrance is still showing on the closures list.

Yeah; I did and ended up doing Big Creek up to Mt Sterling instead. Sloppy as hell with all the ice melting off the trees, but still a great leg stretch and much needed.
