Killing some time at work today and figured I'd pick y'alls brains.....

Looking for a loop in the north Georgia area.......maybe around the Rome area or so......

Got a friend from Kennessaw that wants to do a trip and figured to meet him halfway or so.....

So, i'm looking for a nice easy 3 to 6 mile loop or a decent in and out with a decent place to camp....

Want something easy to have a nice relaxing trip, with a person that doesnt have much experience (him, not me)....

his first trip last fall was the fiery gizzard trail, so i'm looking for more of a relaxing trip.......

thanks...

What about Blood Mountain loop? Take the Byron Reece trail to the AT, up to Blood Mountain (nice views), back down the other side and then connect to the Freeman Trail to bring you back. About 5.5 mi loop. You can also piece together several loop options using the AT and Benton MacKaye, which criss-cross a couple of times just north of Springer Mtn.

From my map Kevin, it looks like there are 4 backcountry sites available along the Gahuti trail Loop. They are numbered 1-4.

Check out Cloudland Canyon as well.  The rim trail is about as flat as good views can get.  I think there is also a backcountry trail that may aloow camping, or do the car camp/dayhike thing.
