Roger and I will be bringing multiple boats.  Some canoes, some kayaks.  PFDs, paddles, and the like.  However, if Deborah brings a packraft, I'd like to try it out.

I'm still planning to come.  Haven't booked tickets yet, but after my schedule clears up this fall I will and plan to bring Tommy & Leslie out again.  I'd like to bring Barbara and the baby too, but I'm not sure if we'll swing it time-wise.

Vince, I could bring packrafts if you're interested to try it out, although Barbara & I might be sending them in for a bit of work (we're getting hers a spray deck, and mine needs a replacement one after years of abuse).  But if they're not "in the shop" then, I don't mind bringing them along.

I think that's over in the Honey Island Swamp area, way east over toward Slidell and New Orleans.

On yet another side note, I stopped by Poche's a couple of years ago and picked up some boudin.  I can do the same this year, and Hebert's isn't far from Poche's.  They both have decent meat, and Hebert's has pretty good veggies and alcohol.

If there's sufficient interest I could order ahead and see if I can get a couple of those crawfish-stuffed chickens or something similar from Poche's.  If Chuck's willing to cook them, that is.  I'm guessin' they're candidates for the dutch oven.

Mike AND Deborah - yeah!!

As for food, I like to leave that to the experts, i.e. Bateaux and ChuckD.  FWIW, I am not much of a seafood eater, even in Louisiana, so the things we usually have would be my choice over a crawfish-stuffed chicken (as delicious as they are!).  I may bring a gumbo or something -- usually I make one and freeze it, but it was too hot last year to cook one in advance!

And of course, everyone local brings snacks and side dishes to share -- no need for those flying in to pick up anything like that.  For drinks, it's usually bring your own, but again, those flying in just us locals know what you want and we can try to bring it.

Counting the days!  :)

I lived in LA for two years, but can honestly say I've never had a crawdad-stuffed chicken. :)  That sounds pretty great, actually.

Everybody else loves them.  I like the cornbread dressing and rice dressing stuffed chickens (and pork chops!) quite a lot.  :;):

There's this place called Bergeron's near my house that has excellent stuffed chickens, boudin, and everything else.  They have both a restaurant and a shop where you can take home the prepared, uncooked foods to cook at home.  So delish!!

Although I've been on this board for many years, I have no idea what HOTB might be.  Hang On To Beer?
