This spring I plan on hiking the LongPath from Ft.Lee 55 miles North to my home. I will start from the Manhattan side of the GW then cross over to the begging of the LP. I have the NYNJ TC maps of the Western Hudson but I'm pretty sure the LP involves some road walking in the Nyack/Piermont vicinity. I plan on scouting the area out first but can anyone advise if they've had experience with the road sections in this area?

check out this guys website.

www.trekkingon.com

he documented his solo hike on the Longpath..starting at the GW bridge. Click the link on the homepage.."adventure films", and you will see it. They are pretty interesting to watch. I have also emailed him with some questions and he is helpful with his reponses.

Good luck.
