Doing a 5K mud run on September 7 in Riverhead on Long Island. Cost is $90 per person, but check out groupon..I got mine and wifes for $35 each!! Its 3.2 miles through military style obsticle course, wade through waist hi water and crawl through deep mud trenches. Should be a challenge. You should try it out also..September 7.

Well, I completed it. Almost broke my ankle jumping a hurdle early on(first 5 minutes into the run). Paramedics iced and wrapped it after I crossed finish line. I was in agonizing pain but I was able to slowly complete the entire 5k. I was able to do all of the obsticles except a rope climb..partially due to my severely sprained ankle and partially due to my "unfitness".  It was a Really fun thing to do.

There was also a Zombie run on Sunday, but due to my ankle injury I could not do it. Rumor has it the Survival race will be back on Long Island in May..cant wait, it was a fun day.

I've actually thought about entering a couple of these next year. Though the other side of me wonders why I'd pay money to enter such an event when I could just bushwhack through a swamp instead.

Well it is fun to do..the military style obsticle course through the woods in the mud..I would not pay regular price though..we got our tickets on groupon for $35 each. For that price, I would do it again. They also have a zombie run..I think its the same style event but there are zombies throughout the forest..that seems fun and in May when the events come back to LI, we will do both.  My wife did really well. She is a jogger and goes to the gym so she was well prepared. She finished with me since she stayed with me to make sure I was ok.. I would recommend trying it..it is a fun afternoon.

Hey, I'm the sixth poster, here. And don't you forget it. That sounds like a lot of fun. Saw it, thought about it, forgot it. May would be fun.

Yeah. Keep an eye on groupon...instead of paying $85 or $95 per person, you can get up to 2 tickets at $35 each!! Huge savings!!....#6

I'm sorry, I got back and it all broke loose.

I'll get some stuff up over the weekend.

I gotta tell you, the club that takes care of the first portion of the NPT has done some incredible stuff.
