Howdy folks,

Looking for hiking buddies in the DFW area. There is plenty of places in TX to hike but always more fun with someone else!

I am local to Dallas and enjoy backpacking, but right now with the 100 degree temps coming in I think I would rather be outside of Texas at 10k+ elevation and mountain scenery. If anyone from the Dallas area reads this and wants to plan a trip, I have a 7-10 days I can spare and am willing to go anywhere that meets the qualifications above.

Am in my 60s, pretty slow hiker, hippieish. Here is my best hike in recent years: http://ckjournal.blogspot.com/2009/09/wind-rivers-2009-north.html
PM if you'd like to think about a bp a little later in the year.

I'm in the southeast Oklahoma Ouachitas if you're ever interested. There's a lot of trails, lakes rivers and creeks. 2-1/2 to 3 hours from DFW, but as already mentioned, later in the year.  :)
