Last year I went on a backpacking trip to Peru. I went shopping for some new gear and had two choices for a spatula. One was an aircraft aluminum and the other a GSI Nylon spatula.

I chose the nylon because it could bend and fit in my pot. So, my guide in Peru was frying eggs one morning with my spatula and pretty much burnt it up. I regretted not getting the aluminum one.

I cannot find the aluminum spatula sold anywhere. Does anyone  have an idea where I can find that or something similar? I do not want to burn up another utensil.

The GSI nylon spatulas are not too robust.  I ruined one cooking pancakes, even though pancakes came out fine.

No, not over a fire but over my msr whisperlite. Our guide was cooking up some eggs.

Thanks for the advice. This is a good suggestion and what I'll probably do if I can't find what I'm looking for.
