When alone or with my wife I usually use my Tarptent Rainshadow2. Lately my grandchildren have been hitting me up to take them camping so I'm thinking I need a bigger tent. It's Florida so I'll need the nest to keep the bugs out.

Thanks,

Al

I have one, live in Northeast Florida and it has been very good, sleeps 4 with the nest, easy to use and setup. The pole in the center makes sleeping layout a little different and may require climbing over someone to get in and out. Have used it on camping and backpacking trips here and on the PCT.  Also went to a conference in New Orleans, there were no hotel rooms, took the Shangi-La as I could stand up in it to put on my suits.  :D

Thanks FS. In addition to the extra room for the grandchildren, the ability to stand up is a major plus for me.

Another satisfied Shangri-La 5 user. I use just the fly along with a bug net perimeter in summer and "snow skirt" in winter. At 2 lbs, 10 oz, it blows me away at how much space I get. It has made winter an absolute pleasure. I agree with the "sleeps four" comment. You could sleep five but it would be snug and difficult to move about. As it is, it's a 2-3 person palace. I also made a gear loft for mine using the inside clips designed to hold the inner tent.
