Help a brother out. It's common here in GA to get your drinks at a restaurant in a to go cup. You can ask for your soda in a to go cup when you order your meal and take it with you when you go. The deal is that you ask for a "to go cup." I'm trying to shorten it to "TGC." I'm pretty much a loser and I want something that my grandkids can remember me by. I want to be the creator of TGC. Not one waitress/waiter has known what I meant so it aint spreading. "Would you like a drink?"....."Yes. Could I have a coke in a TGC?" Make my grandkids proud and spread the word.

I try to never use an acronym until I have used the full phrase, or spelled it out, preceding the abbreviation. There are too many acronyms already in the English language -- especially in the aberration of it used on the Internet, such as in forums.
Therefore, I object. Stop The Overuse Of Chopped Up Phrases: STOOCUP now!
RanD - you know you can't take alcoholic beverages on the road in the TGCs? There are some restaurants here where you can order your drink of the adult nature & then order a cup'o'H2O to go (I mean in a TGC, of course), no H20. Then say you are going to a meeting ... a really boring meeting ... you can walk in with your TGC of no water & no one's the wiser that you're getting sloshed while listening to legal theories about the bankruptcy code or arguing why your construction methods didn't cause the destruction of Western Civilization.
Sure makes the meetings more interesting to have TGC!

LB - you can't get a TGC in CO? Like, not even for a soda? No way I could live there!
