I used to drink Ripple in college, but I was a broke college student. Since I have had more $, I have improved my wine choices. Oregon has some good Pinot Noirs, and 2010 is looking like a good wine year.

Nice, very nice version of Ripple. 3.8 million views, hah! I first saw the Dead in 1972, when they still had the Wall of Sound. Saw them many times over the years, also Grisman/Garcia, Kingfish, various iterations of the New Riders, lots of other combinations, in venues that are now legendary.
Most people don't have a clue what this band was. I tend to think of them as part of a small group of musical artists who truly shaped our history, like Bill Monroe, Bob Dylan and Les Paul. Not just musical artists, but cultural icons, makers of history. Know it or not, your choice. It's there.
I remember the day Jerry died, like it was yesterday. The fool just couldn't slow down, and in the end, as he expected, it killed him.
Thanks for the post. Great performance, albeit late in the game...
I was born in '75 and not allowed to go to concerts unattended until about '92, so I missed out on a lot of shows and was pretty late to the circus, but I did attend Jerry's last show, at Soldier Field.

Reading through this thread reminded me - my wife still has two unused tickets to a Dead concert... I told her she should sell them to a collector on eBay. LOL
The weekend of June 8th, 1980, in Boulder, Co are etched indelibly in my mind. There were these 2 sisters I met, one on Fri night, and the other on Sat night...I left town Sun morning before they could compare notes.
