I will miss most of the games, not being in range of a TV from Thursday noon to sometime late Monday. I am hoping the SF Giants can win another WS, but the Tigers look too strong right now, with their rotation set up.

I still like listening to baseball on the radio. Heck there's a couple of times I've taken a radio with earphones TO a game just to get the better commentary. The At Bat app audio doesn't work as there's too big a lag from real time. Ok for when its standalone but not in the stadium I've tried.
Number of years back I got the entire series over the radio while in Acadia (the one the Yankees choked on and blew the 3 to zip lead in).

I listened to game 5 on my am/fm Walkman Friday battened down at over 7,000' in a dandy of a storm... my Cards fell apart unfortunately. Did get a dandy bull the next am though.

I give a big edge to the Tigers. Besides being set up, their pitching is has been really hot. I also think their manager is among the best in action.

No rotation has been announced for the SF team yet, but I envision it being 1. Zito 2. Vogelsong 3. Cain 4. TBD 5. Zito 6. Vogelsong 7. Cain
Game 4 would be a combination of Lincecum, Baumgartner, and RP staff. Vogelsong would need to pitch on Thursday, with 1 day less rest than normal. This would allow for V and Cain to both pitch twice, if the series goes to 7. Zito was good on Friday, and I would hope he could go a good 4 inn vs Verlanger.

7 - 0 by the third inning.
The Cards were plucked and deep fried........embarrassing I must say.

I am really surprised at the LCS outcome. How could the same team that seemingly batted .400+ against my Nationals in the Division series go so cold? The Giants and Nationals have comparable pitching staffs, IMO. I guess the Cards used up all their magic.
One would expect low scoring pitcher's battles in this WS given the strong staffs. Should be a fun series to watch.

Obviously, I'm a Tigers' fan.
We had tickets to game 5 of the ALCS. Tigers swept the Yankees in 4 games.
We have tickets to game 5 of the World Series. We'd like to actually see a game this time but if they sweep again, we'd be OK with that.

Is baseball still being played? Once my Yanks got stomped I was done. Not really, I watched last night. I just don't care who wins now. Just to see good quality games being played will be the goal.

I love the Tigers starting rotation ( Verlander, Fister, Scherzer and Sanchez) but if San Fran can get to the bullpen it will be a short series.
Tigers hitting is streaky. They will score 11 runs one night and 2 the next. They are one of the worst fielding teams in all of baseball and sorry big load, their manager is clueless most of the time. Their are Summer nights I think he still thinks he's managing a National league team.
Last years fluke, Valverde, will be gone next year THANK GOD!
And to JiminMD, fires in Detroit? That was 20 years ago. Detroit is a ghost town anymore. They NEED to have more fires!

it'll be tough for the gyros. verlander can go three games, and giants pitchers are struggling. stranger things have happened than zito pitching well in the post season! and i hear the detroit defense is fairly inept.
i'll go for the giants in 7, with lincecum playing a big role from the bull pen. and scutaro is playing out of his gourd.

We don't actually play any giants ... though we do have a whole herd of elephants in a couple of weeks.

What the heck was that?
If this is going to be a rehash of the last Yankee game, I dont think I want to watch anymore.

The guy has 12 home runs in the regular season and now is exploding in the Post season. Good for him! He seems to have a lot of enthusiasm.
