The Rolling Stones are celebrating being around for 50 years. Huh, if you take a look at Keith Richards, you would think they have been around for even longer than that  :D

Makes me feel old knowing that I first heard of them when I was a kid.  ???

At least they are older than I am :)

Mick and Keith are a whooping 3 years older than I am so I must still be young!

Hey, looking at Mick Jagger still performing after all these years makes me feel young.  If he can keep up that kind of schedule at his age, so can I.  Actually, it gives me a  lot of "Satisfaction."

I keep looking for a concert in my region, but none so far.  I hope I can still dance around like Mick when I get that old.

Neither was I.

But I am still a fan.  "Can't Always Get What You Want" is still one of my favorite songs of all time.

Not that I'll pay the $2-300+ for a live ticket these days.

I saw them in concert July 4th, 1975 playing to a packed stadium of 50,000 and they played that song. Mick came onstage and said; “Congratulations on your revolution”. They played a great show but the crowd of 50,000 was at least as fascinating. From ’73 to ’75 were probably their most creative years.

Tickets were a bit less money in those days.  :D

The next day Keith Richards and Ron Wood were arrested in a little podunk town in Arkansas. Keith was charged with reckless driving and possession of a deadly weapon, a hunting knife. He posted bail on the first and beat the second. They still got to the next show with the help of a former Secret Service agent who did security details for Presidents Kennedy and Johnson.

I am not a crazy Stones fan, but they have put out a ton of good music.  But as GoBlue said, I ain't payin the price for a ticket.  The last time I saw the Stones was on the tour for Exile on Mainstreet.  My ticket cost $5.  I am not sure the exact year but it was in the early 70s.

I'd pay the money to see them if they were to play within traveling distance. "Goats Head Soup" was the first album I bought.  :)

Yep.  If they play close enough, I am buying 2 tickets.

My mom is a huge Rolling Stones fan, in fact she had a poster of them without their shirts on hanging over our washer and dryer when I was a kid. When I asked her why, she told me it was so she had something nice to look at when she did the laundry. I kept the poster and it is hanging in our laundry room now :)

I got to see them in concert with my parents in 1996-7? for the Bridges to Babylon tour at the Citrus bowl. It was outrageous.

Saw em back in the mid-80s.  They sucked.  Santana blew them off the stage.

And yeah, the ticket prices were outragious.
