I had a beard for years as a younger man. The freedom of not scraping a sharp blade across my face every morn was addictive. As I got older, the white factor started messing with the little vanity I had.
"Had" being the operative word here.
I haven't shaved or clipped in over a week now. I'm getting a "Hemingway-esque" look going. I'm about past the itchy-scratchy stage.
I may keep the beard.
At least until it warms up outside.

Y'know, you're kind. I wish I hadn't told those US Marshals what I know about you.

I did the same a few years ago.

And then I went with the chin only beard. It actually got about twice as long as this but I can't find a picture.

Right now I have let it grow for a week and I have a ton of grey in it. I think guys should just accept grey. The itch is driving me nuts so I'm pretty sure I am going to shave it soon. (Letting my head hair grow though. Its getting quite long)

We ain't talkin' "grey" here. I am full-blown Hemingway white beard. But I'm starting to like it. Feeling like owning it.

OK, odd thing about me: I am one of those women who like men with facial hair. I like bears and goatees. Clean shaven men are just odd to me. I think a well trimmed white beard can look nice!

I won't try that again soon, not in those conditions.... You might want to talk to Chuck, though. He was already plotting how we could make it next year and overcome the obstacles. "We can put it in a dutch oven with a trivet, keep it away from the direct heat..."
I'm content to let it die and just pick up some extra stuff from Poche's...
