I have been hearing some amazing info storage stuff that could mean robots will be made of bio material and so interesting looks into what the original Siri could do before Apple dumbed down it's abilities.
But if you put the stories together imagining a biological computer brain that can learn from experience and grow and. On and on. It sounds like a new life form.
Oh, the story I'm thinking about is that these scientists used the idea if binary code and DNA sequencing to convert letters to five unit long chunks of DNA so the computed a way to store all of Shakespeare's sonnets and the I have a Dream speech and a book. On a strand of DNA. Then a bio company made it and sent it to them. Then they mixed that tiny bit into a liquid and gathered it and sequenced it and could read it again. They said since labs regularly resequence man other DNA they have good evidence for how secure this storage can be from degrading over time and it is so tiny they could store all the info in the world in something the size of a granola bar. I don't know the links anymore but google binary DNA and Shakespeare and you'll find it
The siri story was in huffington post as what apple doesn't want you to know about the smart phone.
