I called bull**** on this one a long time ago, now I see I was correct.

Women are not turned on by men doing the dishes.
***Added, before I am strung upside down from a tall tree that doesn't mean the male partner should not help around the house, but it also ain't gonna help rock'n the casba.

My wife must be putting me on then. She says I'm so sexy when I do laundry and other chores. Not sure I could handle another 1.6 times per month. ;)

What turns me off are perfectly-able-bodied people who choose to depend on others to do things for them or make decisions for them -- either because of a lack of confidence or sheer laziness.
I imagine if I were a female, I would not be turned off by a man who happens to be great in knitting -- as long as he is also upright, decisive, confident...

Hmmm, what's the .6 in the 1.6? A quickie?
Just from my observations, it seems like the leading edge of my generation (millennials) who are now of "marrying age" take a much different approach that blurs the old traditional roles.
However, I grew up in very traditional household, so I agree with the OP. And I think it works both ways, too. I really like it when my significant other cooks in just her apron.

QUOTE Women are not turned on by men doing the dishes. I agree! Emasculation is very unattractive, even repulsive to me. You can change my oil while I do the dishes! I see nothing emasculating about a man doing housework. Dishes have to be washed, and neither if us is keen on doing it. So what makes it my job more than his? What's sexy about a man doing dishes is that he clearly cares enough about me not to leave all the scut-work to me.
And I like being able to do my own handyman jobs, too. Seems stupid that the guy who works 60 hours + per week should also have to fix all the doorknobs and leaks and stuff that goes wrong.
Guess I fail gender roles 101.

Theory 1. Men who cook and clean are often married to women who have full time jobs. Women who have full time jobs are more tired than women who have time to do all the cooking and cleaning.
Theory 2. Cooking and cleaning is hard work, and it's the men who are too tired......
Theory 3. Men who like to cook and clean don't want to have sex....at least not with women.....

I do the cooking usually, and I'm rewarded nicely for it ;)
Actually I prefer to cook. I've always found (and been told) that men make the best cooks. We share the rest. It's all good like that.
I don't believe in this masculinity verses femininity stuff.

I'm racking my brain trying to figure out that study.
First, food has always be considered an aphrodisiac, and I've always been the cook in the house, whether it was a college house shared with my roommates, or in the very few relationships I've ever been in. Everyone was more than satisfied with my recipes and was glad I took the time. Bonus points were usually scored after a particularly excellent meal with my female partners.
And since I'd dirtied them, I do the dishes.
2nd, I've always done "my own" laundry since I moved away from home.
3rd, I HAVE to do all of the vacuuming, dusting because of my wife's severe allergies.
Most of all, I can't believe the stated average number of "marital encounters".
Even though I've always done much of the "Girlie Work" and the article claims that to lower "encounters" to an average of 3.125/ month, lets just say mine has never been that low, or even their "average". Let's just say it's many times more than their average times a lot.
