I think the biggest problem is for the self-employed or others with no one watching.  I don't have that problem when working at the library.  I know what I'm doing and can just do it.  But when I sit down in front of a computer to write. . . Yeah, any distraction will do.  Before the Internet it was laundry, etc.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to have the internet at work...we can't have cell phones on the dispatch floor, nor any ipads etc that have 3g....no connection to  the outside world except what callers tell us about...laugh
