I really liked it until I realized it was about a fricking truck. Then it was kind of on the same level as the idiotic one Clint Eastwood did last year.

Thought it was the best commercial, just didn't think it was going to end as a dodge commercial.  I didn't think the commercials were as good as years past.

A video segment during the Super Bowl that sold stuff ?

Stunning, simply stunning.

Kept waiting to be wowed.

Wasn't.

The network ads for their own shows put the product commercials in their shadow.

I think my favorite one was the John Montana stain one (for Tide, I think?) where the guy's wife washes out the "miracle stain" at the end and whispers "Go Ravens!".

So some tear jerker about farmers is going to make me want to buy a Dodge pickup?  I don't think so.

I liked the Clydesdale one too, but I'm not about to run out and buy a six pack of Bud light.

As far as the "It's only weird if it doesn't work" thing.....guess what?  IT DOESN'T WORK!

I did like the one about where babies come from though. Pretty funny.  I remember that conversation with my kids. That was pretty funny too. Sometime I'll have to post it here.  I actually sent it into Reader's Digest for their blips on funny life stories.  They published it and I got $300 for it.  Come to think of it, it would make apretty good Super Bowl commerial.  But I digress.  Sorry.

Just to set the record straight "And God made a Farmer" is not a Dodge Truck ad, it's the new National fund raising campaign by the FFA (Future Farmers of America). Dodge just footed the bill, and is donating up to $1,000,000 to the FFA.

The FFA was nearly the largest Student Organization at my HS in a small rural town where 75% of our economy was based on dairy farming and the seed corn business.

Paul Harvey originally read that for their 1978 National Convention.

"And that's the rest of the story"........

But they only donate that amount if enough people forward the truck ad on Facebook.

Looks a hell of a lot like a Dodge Truck marketing scheme to me.
