Pitchers and catchers are required to report today and during the next few days. Spring is in the wind.

I'm looking forward to baseball. Spring seems a long way off, though.

It was one of my favorite things about living in AZ as a student - spring training!
Especially the game where we got to see Bo Jackson hit a homerun - sweet!

These days, I prefer winter snowshoeing to summer hiking. I love the solitude and the exciting weather so I'm actually hoping that winter stays around for a while longer (or in our case...starts). We've had a mild winter overall.

The excitement factor for baseball is right up there with shuffleboard and slightly below curling.

Baseball is unequivocally the least fair of the major professional team sports in this country. How an owner has been allowed to be the Commissioner for so long is deplorable. Given how incredibly uneven the playing field is I really don't think it remotely deserves the respect so many give it.

so glad I moved to a state with no professional baseball teams. I'm excited for soccer to start...so I can play.
and in 2014, Indy is getting a 2nd division pro team that should be fun to watch.
