Jeff Gordon is also on the first row.
Now it'll be 195+ mph in a crowd.

Who is this guy Datona? I would give the Rumi pole to Danica Patrick, no matter who is on the front row watching ... well except for Ldyblade. hahahaha

Half decent looking woman or not the Big Left Turn has got to be some form of extraterestrial manipulation of certain masses. Might as well call it the Hypnorally.

If all she's doing is pole dancing, I'd watch, but NASCAR racing is more boring than professional chess, golf, tennis, and ping pong combined !

I haven't watched NASCAR in years but that is pretty cool. I may have to watch some of that. Good for her. From what I'm hearing she earned it.

Rumor in these parts is that her car was set up for qualifying first. Meaning, it ain't gonna last.

I have no interest in NASCAR but I would love to watch the coverage just to hear the announcer say that "Danica Patrick is sitting on the pole".

Don't all the crews make adjustments between qualifying and racing? Even if a car was specifically set up one way, isn't it possible to change that before the race? Personally, with no knowledge of how they work, I would imagine there is very little difference between how any of the crews work. One team's secret would become SOP the next season.

I know stock car racing has it's roots in "Redneck America", but there is an incredible amount of engineering that go into those race cars. I machine components for everyday vehicles, and one diameter dimension has a tolerance of plus or minus .010 millimeters. 10 microns. So laugh and make fun all you want, but it ain't shade tree mechanics putting these cars on the track.
