Just thought some might enjoy.  I thought it was pretty spectacular, especially put in HD and full-screened.

That's cool. I especially like the flights over the Northern Lights (such as about a minute from the end of the video).

Elsewhere, sometimes at night there are white flashes of light. I wonder if those white flashes are thunderstorms, that is, the lightning. The cities show up in a more yellow light and don't flash. (Screenprint below is at about 1:44 minutes, but there are many other times the flashes appear.)

Anyhow, that was a refreshing break from my tedious paperwork. Thanks.

I recognized Spain in the beginning, but had difficulty in making out any other landmarks after that set of shots. Felt like that series was less close up, and the land shapes more discernible.

For some reason it made me wish I'd spent more time at sea.
Beautiful video indeed, thanks GBH.

Travis,

Yes, it's lightning storms.  :)

I just read somewhere in the past week or two that astronauts are always amazed at how much lightning activity is happening on earth at any given moment, all visible from space.

Cool video GBH, I can never tire from watching stuff like this...
