Gotta love a good set of tracks when you're out there. These are from Banff National Park this past September on the last day of a four day trip.

I've got quite a few, but I'll try to narrow it down to one.

One of those might be mine though.

Bear track in Shenandoah National Park. There was a two mile stretch of the AT that was littered with bear scat, some of it fresh. I had a close encounter with a big boar less than a quarter mile after taking this photo.

Indian Ridge, Spanish Peaks, above Gallatin Canyon MT. Then I heard a "wuff", looked up and saw him at about 15'.

This a trap set in my back yard in the city. Over the last few months I caught 2 grey fox, a raccoon and 9 possums here. However I never did catch this fox. With a rare snow covering on the ground in this temperate climate, I was able to see tracks in the yard for once. This was just a couple weeks ago and I caught nothing since this photo. That night 2 grey fox visited my yard. They enter my yard by leaping the 4 foot fence, as opposed to climbing under somewhere, which is something I had wondered about. This particular fox rounded my trap set twice before diving in through the blocking and taking the bait, avoiding the trap.

This is not my pic but have seen this type of impression many times hunting Ruffed Grouse in the Adirondacks over the decades.

These otter tracks had a neat dot-dot-dash pattern across a lake in Itasca State Park. I followed them across the lake, thru the woods, another lake, more woods, then I turned back.
