Found this deep in the woods of the Adirondacks. Looks like some old wood burning stove. There were several more pieces of it laying around. Out in the middle of nowhere!

I love to take pics of weird stuff along the trail! You tend to find lots of it along the PCT:

This was from the next week at a TH parking lot at Cheaha in Alabama. Turned out to be a Buff. Only one I've found, only one I've lost

Along the "Kek" trail in the BWCA. Actually maybe it DOES belong there... you decide.

The old engine in this was used to pull small ore cars up a steep mine shaft in the Huachuca Mountains.

Not exactly a "doesn't belong here" photo (like others on the thread), but thought others might find it interesting. Bushwhacking to a trail-less Alpine lake and found this along a drainage several miles from the lake... I believe Ranger Sven might enjoy it!

Found these live rounds in a fire pit at a campsite on the Florida Trail. Fortunately I noticed them before I started the fire.

I wish I had a photo of the logging skidder that was wedged between trees on an impossibly steep slope. The slope was difficult to walk down, let alone drive down in a piece of heavy machinery. Whoever was driving that thing was certainly a Grade-A moron. Maybe if I have time this weekend I'll try to find it and take a photo.

We find mylar balloons almost everytime we hike in the mountains and desert wilerness. I hate those things, so unslightly - I will never buy one!
We've come across old cars and mining equipment a lot - before areas were protected folks were certainly exploring them.
