... chocolate chip cookies. And if they don't have walnuts then they're worthless. I like them well done, not soft. My mom made the best chocolate chip cookies. She tweeked the recipe a bit which made them special.
With a large batch of these and a gallon of milk, I could eat them till I threw up ... then start eating some more.

Nothing was more tasty than my grandmother's peanut-butter cookies. It's been 30 years. But I remember.
When she left home to travel for weeks at a time, she left me in charge of guarding her valuable freezer and dozens of the delicious morsels inside. Oh munchies! Why for art thou?
I felt so guilty. Upon her return, she said, "I guess it's time to bake some more cookies." Like she didn't know.
I gain some relief only in the knowledge that the statute of limitations has expired on cookie embezzlement.
April was always making chocolate chip cookies. Not for our Xmas cookie party though. One time, after many years of marriage, I mentioned that oatmeal cookies were my favorite. Her reply? "In 17 years, you have never told me that, so you only have yourself to blame for not getting oatmeal cookies more often." In the 10 years following that discussion, I think I got oatmeal cookies about once a year. We had brownies from scratch probably once a month.
Now, I make my own oatmeal cookies, and I get about 12-14 out of a recipe that says it makes 60. Mine come out salad plate size, all the better to spread peanut butter on and make a cookie sandwich.

I'm telling you now that I like oatmeal raisin cookies. I don't intend to miss out.
-------------- Checking out for a while, find me on FB.
If there aren't choco chips, there's no point. I really like the extra-big, extra-dark chips from Ghiradelli. And sorry Rumi, but they need to be soft, not cooked rock hard.
Great. Now I want cookies, and it's not dessert night until tomorrow.

Great, set another plate at yer table, I'm headed for the door after I post this. Just make sure they have walnuts. They don't have to be rock hard, just good and stiff.
Rumi
PS: Can we have pasta for the main meal? hahahaha

Mine are chewy and never have nuts. Nuts take up space that should be given to chocolate.
Yeah, pasta would be fine.
Oh, heck, I'll put some nuts in the cookies you are going to eat.

I never had a recipe make the amount called for till the day my husband bought me dishers (dough scoops). Suddenly my numbers were matching the recipes. And yeah, no more Texas Muffin sized cookies :-D
I think I'll go make some peanut butter oatmeal choco chip cookies, with walnuts.
Yer a good mother! Can I adopt you?
Rumi
If that would mean I'd have a place to stay on the Olympic peninsula, YES, please adopt me. I promise to make cookies whenever I visit (and I'll even overbake some for you even though I'm firmly in the soft-cookie-camp).
