Wyoming should send some wolves to Africa to decimate the antelope herds
No need--people are doing a fine job as it is, taking over for the Cape Hunting Dogs which are nearly extinct.
The nations of Africa are missing an opportunity to be more environmentally radical than Australia. I say introduce some species of bear. The Roman empire had to ruin the plausibility of the phrase: "Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!"
No sympathy for the mountain biker from me. Take the chances, pay the piper.
It's similar to if a racer gets tackled by a mountain lion or grizzly in the States. It's all part of the sport. Race around native wildlife, spook them, mimic their prey or their predator, and you may get what's coming to you — horns, claws, fangs, or whatever.

Why limit to racers? Hikers too have been known to surprise a bear or two. No sympathy for hikers either?
Bet there are lots of people who wish that folks could just stop building trails and campsites -- and leave what's left of wild lands to the animals.
My point -- it's all subjective.

Remind us all next time you see a backpacker hiking at 37 miles per hour. Big difference around wildlife.
Few people ever draw a line against themselves. In this case, plenty will argue that carving out trails is itself a big difference to wildlife. Who gets to make that call?

In all of years of driving an auto at up to 100 mph, I've never hit a deer. A couple of birds and lots of ground squirrels in WY but that's been it.
3 yrs ago I t-boned a mule deer while on my MTB when it decided it wanted to double back and run in front of me just a split sec after it ran across my trail .
I likely still have bits of gravel from all of the OTB stops I've had to do after a fox dashed 1' in front of me.

I get to make the call who I sympathize with and who I don't. That's whether you like it or not.
